Expensify.org Justice Campaign Terms

Last Updated: February 24, 2021

1. To submit a proposal and have a chance to be a Campaign Manager, you must meet all eligibility requirements and follow these Terms. Void where prohibited.

2. All proposals must meet one of the five funding areas: Hunger, Climate, Reentry, Homes, and Youth. Proposal must be supported by Expensify.org’s direct giving model. Expensify may contact the Campaign Manager to review proposal and provide the Campaign Manager with suggestions before being finalized.

3. Proposals are accepted until April 30, 2021 or other date specified by Expensify.org. Once Expensify.org determines a proposal meets its requirements, it will be placed on the website for voting. Requirements are subject to change and Expensify.org’s sole discretion. Expensify.org may disqualify or reject a proposal at its sole discretion. A proposal ultimately may be rejected even after it has been initially accepted.

4. Proposals must be original. Use of any automated system to submit a proposal is prohibited and will result in disqualification. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, or misdirected proposals.

5. By submitting a proposal, you grant Expensify, Inc. and Expensify.org a worldwide, irrevocable and unrestricted right and license to adapt, publish, use, edit, and/or modify such proposal in any way and post the proposal on the internet or use the proposal in any other way, and you agree to indemnify and hold Expensify.org and Expensify, Inc. harmless from any claims to the contrary.

6. Voting on proposals ends June 1, 2021 or other date specified by Expensify.org.

7. Only Expensfy.org members (all Karma Donors and Donors via the website) are able to vote.

8. The top two proposals in each of the five categories receiving the most votes will get approved. Five campaigns will be awarded a minimum of $25,000, four campaigns will get $50,000, and one campaign will receive $100,000. Expensify.org’s decisions as to the top vote getting proposals are final.

9. Once approved, Expensify.org will reimburse 50% of the receipt total up to the agreed amount by transferring the money directly into the volunteer’s bank account (US only). It is not Expensify.com’s responsibility to ensure that the correct deposit account is added or that the deposit account has been added correctly and timely. Reimbursement is subject to stated limits. Reimbursement is subject to Expensify’s sole discretion. Expensify.org may cancel its commitment if it determines there is fraud or if the expenses do not fit within the intent of a proposal.

10. Volunteers or submitters of expenses must have been invited to the campaign’s expense policy on Expensify.com to claim and receive reimbursement. Reimbursement will only be made on verified purchases.

11. Users signing up to Expensify with different accounts and the same deposit account on file will be removed from the campaign and disqualified and receive no further funding.

12. Individuals that submit a winning proposal will not receive any compensation or prize.

13. Photo/Video Release:

As part of your application, you may choose to share or upload Content, including photographs or videos, related to your proposal. By uploading any Content, you hereby irrevocably grant Expensify and its affiliates (collectively, the “Released Party”) all rights and permission to create, use, publish, modify, and distribute photography and/or video that you provide to the Released Party (the "Likeness"). The Likeness may be used and/or published individually or in conjunction with other produced works, and in any medium (including without limitation, print publications, public broadcast, online format) and for any lawful purpose, including without limitation, trade, exhibition, illustration, promotion, publicity, advertising and electronic publication. Without limiting the foregoing, the Released Party intends to use Likeness in its general marketing materials.

You understand and agree that this photography/video will become the property of the Released Party and will not be returned. You also understand and agree that the use of publishing of the Likeness does not in any way mean that your application is accepted, nor that your proposal is qualified for the vote or winning any funds.

You hereby represent and warrant that no other party's authorization or consent is required with respect to the permission granted to the Released Party. You hereby waive any right that you may have to inspect or approve the Released Party's use of the Likeness, or the advertising copy or printed matter that may be used in connection with the use and/or publication of the Likeness.

You further release the Released Party from any and all liability arising out of such use of said video or photography and shall have no proprietary interest in the Released Party by reason of this use. You acknowledge that the Released Party shall not be required to provide compensation to use any film, video, or photos that include the Likeness. You hereby hold harmless and release and forever discharge the Released Party from all claims, demands, and causes of action which you and your heirs, representatives, executors, administrators, or any other persons acting on your behalf or on behalf of your estate have or may have by reason of this authorization.

If said photography or video is registered for copyright, you hereby assign said copyright and the right to renew said copyright to the Released Party, and if such photography or video has not been registered for copyright, you hereby assign the Released Party the right to copyright the same in its own name
